My only issue is the pickups, but I can only assume that I would be replacing pickups on any guitar under $300 anyway.

Dec 12 2009 nbsp 0183 32 The stock pickups both of them have a full frequency clarity that in comparison to other single coil pickups I have on other guitars is like the difference between black and white and technicolor in the Wizard of Oz I've had a few of the Firefly 338s, and kept the spalted one I bought. I've never tried the Grote, but I hear that they're a similar guitar for similar money. My experience with the Fireflys is that if you can accept some finish flaws and if you can give a guitar a setup, that you'll end up with a great guitar for very little money.
